Evangelicals' Important Role re Immigration Reform

In the vein of "progressives are very wrong and misguided to dismiss, denigrate, and burn bridges with, evangelicals," here's an interesting story on the crucial role evangelicals are playing in preserving prospects for immigration reform on the Republican side.

I agree progressives should not "burn bridges" here and would find it rather ironic given the President's own religious background.

A recent episode of the show "The Fosters" seems apropos here -- a same sex couple's adopted son asked permission to go to a Catholic sponsored camp and one mom was worried. The mother (different sex marriage!) of the his gf reassured her that they were not anti-gay. The mother and her husband was very supportive of the Fosters, since what is more Christian than family?!

I also saw an interesting Becket Fund reference to the same sex liberty interests over at Volokh Conspiracy that might interest some here: http://www.volokh.com/2013/07/22/a-crime-to-conduct-a-same-sex-or-polygamous-religious-wedding-ceremony-in-indiana/#disqus_thread
