"Gone Baby Gone"

From 2008:

"Gone Baby Gone"

I'm probably behind the curve on this one, but I just saw the (relatively) recent movie, "Gone Baby Gone."  Here's the opening line (spoken by the main character, a private investigator "from the neighborhood" in Boston):

I always believed it was the things you don't choose that makes you who you are. Your city, your neighborhood, your family.

I won't provide any spoilers, but here's a thought:  "Juno" and "Bella" (and "Knocked Up") notwithstanding, "Gone Baby Gone" was one of the most "Catholic" -- and, I thought, one of the most pro-life (in a subtle way) -- movies made in recent years.  Discuss.

Saw the movie but not sure w/o more about that. Will see what others say.

One thing about "pro-life" -- to me, movies generally are substantively pro-life even if you get the idea the characters are on principle pro-choice. The characters repeatedly have children. Abortion is not something talked about as a rule. You would not know it from films that so many occur. Unexpected children often is a plot device. Anyway, another interesting "pro-life" film is Waitress. Great movie btw. The character at one point says something like that baby has a right to be born, but that doesn't mean I have to like the idea.

BTW, I saw "October Baby" in the library rental rack again today. Some here might like the film. It is a sort of pro-life coming of age/discovery film. Like "Gone Baby Gone" in a fashion it has a moral but does so in the form of a good story.
