Koritansky ed., "The Philosophy of Punishment and the History of Political Thought"
Thanks to Michael White, I am pleased to post about another superb-looking book about the intellectual
history of punishment edited by Peter Karl Koritansky and with contributions by Professor White, among others. The book is The Philosophy of Punishment and the History of Political Thought (U. Missouri Press 2011). Professor Koritansky's fine volume on Aquinas's thought about punishment is noted here. Here is the description of the edited volume.

It looks very interesting, though I must admit that I find it very annoying when a page for the book (from the publisher!) doesn't bother to list the table of contents or the contributors. (And there's no "look inside" feature from Amazon- I think that's also up to the publishers, but don't know.) For an edited book, especially, there's no way I'd buy the book w/o knowing the essays included. This is a common but crazy practice by publishers. (I must admit that the endorsement of Thomas Pangle in a blurb makes me more hesitant to buy w/o seeing the contents.)
