Opening Day in Philly

It's snowing this morning in Philadelphia, but the Phillies are opening their season at 1:05pm at Citizens Bank Park against the Astros. Hope is a theological virtue in the Christian tradition, and in this instance it's aided by the best pitching rotation in baseball.

I'm just happy we got Davey Lopes back. Too bad we couldn't snag Jayson Werth before he went to the Nationals. Did you notice who the Dodgers beat on opening day? I hope that's an auspicious beginning. In any case, still better than opening on April Fool's Day!

The way things have been going with the Dodgers' owner of late I figure the season will find us becoming more intimately acquainted with the theological virtues of faith, humility, and suffering (perhaps charity as well).
