Not a comment on the article, which I am looking forward to reading, but about Mirror of Justice generally. As a frequent visitor who especially appreciates the frequent commentary on free exercise/accommodating religion in the public square/conscience protection issues, I haven’t noticed any reaction to the Lower Manhattan mosque controversy. Unless I’ve missed some posts, I’ve found it strange that a national movement, one with widespread public support and the vocal support of prominent national politicians, including presidential aspirants, to prevent the construction of a Muslim cultural center in NYC, and related protests against mosque construction elsewhere in the US has not been addressed on this site. Usually such matters, particularly on free exercise questions pertaining to Catholics but one other traditions too, gets a quick response, even when they are much less widely debated then this particular controversy. What gives? It seems to me a serious campaign to target the religious freedom of a significant religious minority in this country, one being fanned by mainstream politicians, that could get increasingly ugly. I had hopped those on this site with a concern about such matters might speak up.
