Commencement Speeches

Richard M. says:

[T]he selection (the honoring) of someone who is in favor of abortion rights communicates either that the school doesn't think there is anything wrong with the person's views or that the error in the person's views isn't terribly important. With regard to the issue of abortion, I think those are the wrong messages to be sending.

Does this mean that inviting Bush to speak at St. Vincent means that -- for the people running that college -- Bush's views on torture and the war in Iraq (not to mention the death penalty) are either (1) not wrong or (2) not "terribly important"?
