Should anyone take Christian thinking about law seriously? Does it constitute a serious alternative to mainstream secular jurisprudence? Can it be characterized as a critical legal philosophy that contests core assumptions of the dominant legal ideology? Can Christian legal thought be relevant and persuasive to those outside a Christian faith tradition? How can one do legal scholarship from within a faith tradition? This conference of legal academics from both Catholic and Protestant traditions will try to explore these questions from both a theoretical standpoint and through examples of Christian legal scholarship.
