As the product of an evangelical upbringing, I took interest in the New York Times catching up to the increasingly harmonious Catholic-evangelical relationship. The Times' attention is triggered by evangelical support for the conservative Catholic line on the communion controversy, which the paper attributes to a broader cultural alliance in opposition to rampant individualism.
